Ellen Dziubek is a Michigan-based documentary filmmaker and photographer who weaves human-centered stories into short-form media.

About Ellen
I've had a camera in my hand for as far back as I can remember. Growing up making music videos in my backyard, talk shows with my cousins, and commercials with the family camcorder sparked a lifelong love of storytelling. Film school helped refine my craft, but my work is still guided by the same instincts: curiosity, empathy, and a deep appreciation for genuine human connection.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Cinema and a concentration in Cinema Production from DePaul University. I have broad experience in documentary storytelling, wedding videography, commercial video production for small businesses and nonprofits, and many styles of photography.
My style is gentle, inquisitive, and intentionally unpolished. I gravitate toward the genuine moments and shape them into work that is both professional and deeply personal. My finished projects carry the warmth and ease of a home video.
Above all, I believe in showcasing honest moments and stories that bring communities together.

Films
I specialize in planning, filming, and editing short documentary stories, from commercial projects to weddings, with a focus on authenticity and human connection.
Portraits
I began my freelance career as a portrait photographer, building a business centered on creating personalized portraits and headshots for families, seniors, and professionals.

Travel
My camera comes with me on every trip, and I’m drawn equally to sweeping landscapes and candid street scenes, always chasing light and stories that make a place unique.
